December 15, 2025 – Sunset Mesa students recently took part in a meaningful service project connected to Wreaths Across America, helping honor those who have served our country.
Students visited Sunset Memorial Park, where they carefully walked the grounds identifying and marking the graves of veterans. With guidance on what to look for, they placed flags at each site so that volunteers could later return to lay wreaths in their honor.
The work required attention, respect, and care as students moved from one grave to the next—recognizing the importance of each name and each story represented.
This project offered a powerful opportunity for students to serve their community while gaining a deeper appreciation for the sacrifices made by veterans.
Rows of flags mark the resting places of veterans, each one placed with care by Sunset Mesa students as part of this annual service project.
