March 18, 2026 – Sunset Mesa’s annual STEM Fair brought science to life as students stepped into the role of young researchers and presenters. This project invited students to explore a topic of their choice—designing experiments, gathering results, and sharing their discoveries through creative display boards.

This year, about 30 students participated, each showcasing their unique interests and ideas. From fascinating experiments to thoughtful research projects, the variety and creativity on display were impressive. Students presented their work to a panel of volunteer judges, including local scientists, engineers, and medical professionals, giving them a real-world audience for their efforts.

One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity for the entire student body to walk through the exhibits, ask questions, and vote for their favorite projects. The excitement continued into the evening, when participants were recognized and awards were presented.

In a standout moment, one of the top awards went to a kindergartener whose confident and engaging presentation won over both judges and peers—proof that passion and enthusiasm can shine at any age!

The STEM Fair continues to be a meaningful way for students to explore their interests, build confidence, and experience the joy of discovery.
