May 27, 2025 – Sunset Mesa’s fourth and fifth graders brought the stage to life this year with a full production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, performed in front of packed audiences at Sandia Prep.
Students fully embodied their characters, bringing personality and charm to every moment on stage.
The musical featured every fifth grader in a role, with fourth graders joining as the chorus—creating a large, energetic cast. Students spent weeks preparing, learning music, memorizing lines, and rehearsing both at school and on location during the final week leading up to the performances.
With imagination in the driver’s seat, students deliver one of the musical’s most unforgettable moments.
The production included impressive sets, detailed costumes, and standout moments—including a fully built car with wings that extended during flight scenes. Parent volunteers and staff played a big role behind the scenes, helping bring the vision to life.
With three performances that sold out, the show was a major highlight of the year. Students are already preparing for the next production, with Moana set to take the stage next.
