September 5, 2025 – Fourth and fifth graders from Sunset Mesa headed to Glorieta for this year’s retreat, spending time outdoors building friendships, confidence, and teamwork.
Throughout the trip, students participated in a variety of activities designed to challenge and encourage them—working together through group exercises and enjoying favorites like the slide hill. The setting at Glorieta provided plenty of space and built-in opportunities for adventure, including activities like zip lining.
Teachers and parent volunteers joined the trip, helping guide students through the experience and making sure everything ran smoothly. The time away from campus gave students a chance to connect in new ways and create shared memories outside the classroom.
The retreat continues to be a highlight for Sunset Mesa’s upper grades, offering a meaningful mix of fun, growth, and community.

Students explore the world around them, taking part in hands-on activities that encourage curiosity.

Students enjoy classic camp experiences like roasting marshmallows – building friendships and making memories along the way.
